What we collect
When you use Yumble, we collect:
- Account info — your name, email, and profile photo from Google
- Food preferences — allergies, diet, favorite foods, cooking style, and meal preferences you share during setup
- Meal plans — the plans we create for you, your feedback, and shopping lists
- Household info — who is in your household and their food preferences
How we use your data
- To create personalized meal plans for your household
- To generate shopping lists from your meal plans
- To remember your preferences so future plans are better
AI processing
Your food preferences are sent to our AI service (Anthropic Claude) to generate meal plans. This data is processed to create your recipes but is not stored by Anthropic and is not used to train AI models.
Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with:
- Google — for sign-in (OAuth only, we don't access your Google data beyond your name and email)
- Anthropic — to generate meal plans (see AI processing above)
- Microsoft Azure — our hosting provider, where your data is stored in Canada
Data storage and security
- Your data is stored in Canada (Azure Canada Central)
- All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (AES-256)
- We use secure, httpOnly cookies for authentication
- We do not use tracking cookies or analytics
Children's data
Household owners can create profiles for family members, including children. This data is provided by the parent/guardian and is used only for meal planning. If you are a parent and want to delete your child's profile, you can do so from the Household page.
Your rights
You can:
- View your data on the Profile and Household pages
- Update your preferences at any time
- Export your data from the Profile page
- Delete your account and all data from the Profile page
